Smart growth is the government's vision for promoting and managing growth in Ontario. It is a vision based on three principles: a strong economy, strong communities and a clean, healthy environment.
The Toronto Food Policy Council (TFPC), a sub-committee of the Toronto Board of Health, aims for a food system that fosters equitable food access, nutrition, community development and environmental health. Over the past ten years, the TFPC has produced a ground-breaking series of 15 discussion papers on various elements of a food systems approach to public health policy.
